why I became a mortgage broker

When I was 22 and my brother was 18, we decided we wanted to buy our first investment property. At the time we were working, we had supportive parents, and we had a friendly bank manager. Our parents came to the bank with us, had a chat to the local branch manager, someone my father knew quite well, we all signed a thick pile of paperwork and our loan was done. We got the house we wanted.

But later on, despite everyones help and best intentions, we discovered that we had really signed up for the wrong loan structure. You see, we had signed up for a fixed rate loan and when we wanted to make significant extra payments we could not. And the nice bank manager... Well it turned out that the bank had taken far too much security for the loan amount. They not only had the mortgage over our property, but they had also gotten our parents had to put up their own home title. And it didn't end there. The bank had also requested our parents as guarantors. In fact we didn't need them to be as we had significant deposit. I also now know that there were a number of other home loan products that offered more flexibility and a number of other features.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. And it is experiences like my own that is why I am here tonight to make sure as many people as I can talk to, get the right help. You see, a good finance broker would easily have helped us not only avoid all of these mistakes, but get the very best deal.

First Home Buyer

I had dreamed for years about owning my own home but the whole process seemed completely overwhelming and far beyond my financial reach. Whilst wishfully walking through a display house and seeing all the things I thought I could never have, I was given a card for X-Inc Finance.
